A man performing a dance routine during a Mother’s Day concert in Chechnya collapsed and died on stage – to applause by audience members who thought it was all part of the show.

The 48-year-old — identified as R. Khusainov — was caught on a concertgoer’s smartphone during his energetic Lezginka dance in the town of Urus-Martan as singer Liza Akhmatova sings, Central European News reported.

Within seconds, he stumbles and falls but the surprised Akhmatova continues singing and the crowd roars its approval.

“Hey, he stopped it,” she says and urges the audience to give Khusainov a round of applause.

But other cast members approach the stricken man when it is apparent that he is not moving.

Paramedics rushed to the scene, but Khusainov, who worked as a children’s dance teacher, was already dead.

The tragic dancer, who had a history of heart disease, had died of cardiac arrest.
